40 Spooky Movies For Kids

It’s nearly October 31st once more, so it’s time for Movies4Kids’ suggestions of perfect Hallowe’en movies you can watch as a family at home, from cute and cuddly monster movies for little ones to creepier, scarier fare for brave older kids and teens (and parents, of course).

The reviews are grouped into age categories as a rough guide but do read the Movies4Kids review (and watch the movie’s trailer, also on the review page) for more information – just click on any movie’s title below to go to the relevant review.

Some words of advice before you dim the lights and get ready to hide behind the sofa:

  1. Do read the individual Movies4Kids reviews to see if a movie is suitable for your child, and if you’re still not sure it’s never a bad idea to watch a movie first yourself just to see what could possibly upset or scare them.
  2. Don’t assume that just because a movie is animated, it will be suitable for very little viewers!
  3. Check out the movie’s certificate (we use the British ratings, eg U, PG, 12A, 15) and you can also visit the British Board Of Film Classification’s website –– for more information on certificates and specific films.
  4. Have a spooktacular Hallowe’en!
