Trailer round-up: Disney’s Wish, the Hunger Games prequel, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, The Flash, The Marvels, Indiana Jones…

There are lots of new movies aimed at families, kids and teens coming our way this year, so it’s time to get out your calendar and note down when the movie you really want to see is coming out. Here’s our sneak peak at some of the movies released later in 2023:

Wish – in cinemas November 22

Teenage Asha makes a wish so powerful in this animated adventure that it is answered by a cosmic force named Star. Together, the duo have to confront King Magnifico to save Asha’s community. Ariana De Bose, Chris Pine and Alan Tudyk are among the voice cast.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes – in cinemas November 17

Fans of The Hunger Games series of movies will no doubt be counting the months until the release of this prequel movie, that tells the story of Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth), 64 years before we meet him as the President of Panem in the original movies. Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage and Hunter Schafer also star.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – in cinemas June 8

The latest movie in the Transformers franchise introduces the Maximals to the battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Ron Perlman and Michelle Yeoh also star.

The Flash – in cinemas June 15

Expect lots of time travel head-scratchiness as The Flash, aka Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) uses his superpowers to travel back in time but instead gets trapped in another reality where General Zod has returned and Barry has to coax Batman out of retirement. Michael Shannon and Michael Keaton (aka our favourite ever Batman/Bruce Wayne) also star.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – in cinemas June 30

Harrison Ford has confirmed this is his final adventure as Indiana Jones, and in this movie the hero archaeologist is joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Mads Mikkelsen, John Rhys-Davies and Toby Jones.

The Marvels – in cinemas November 10

Brie Larson returns as Captain Marvel in this latest adventure from the Marvel universe, and things get complicated for the superhero when her powers become entangled with super-fan Kamala Khan (aka Ms Marvel) and Carol’s niece Monica Rambeau. Teyonah Paris, Iman Vellani and Zawe Ashton co-star, while Samuel L Jackson returns as Nick Fury.
