First trailer for Mowgli
Rudyard Kipling’s classic story The Jungle Book is getting another update, this time in the capable hands of director Andy Serkis – best known for his work in motion capture technology in movies like The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and the Planet Of The Apes movies.
The movie, which will blend motion capture with live action, promises to be a much darker version of Kipling’s tale as it follows the story of Mowgli as he is raised by a pack of wolves in the jungles of India. The actors lending their voices to the animal roles include Christian Bale as panther Bagheera, Cate Blanchett as snake Kaa, Benedict Cumberbatch as tiger Shere Khan, Naomi Harris as Nisha, the female wolf that adopts Mowgli, and Andy Serkis as Baloo the bear.
They are joined by Matthew Rhys, Freida Pinto and Rohan Chand as Mowgli. The movie opens in the UK and the US on October 19th, and you can view the trailer and a behind the scenes featurette below:
