A follow-up to the 2019 animated hit, this feature length cartoon once again takes us to the home of that creepy, kooky Addams Family – mum Morticia (Theron), dad Gomez (Isaac), kids Wednesday (Moretz) and Pugsley (Javon Wanna Walton), Uncle Fester (Nick Kroll) and, of course, butler Lurch and Thing.

Realising that Wednesday doesn’t want to be around her family, Gomez plans a bonding road trip across America, and it isn’t long before the quirky family are having strange adventures involving their Cousin It (voiced by Snoop Dogg), determined lawyer Mr Mustela (Shawn) and wealthy scientist Cyrus Strange (Bill Hader).

With Wednesday – the Addams Family’s most interesting character – getting centre stage, this is a fun improvement on the 2019 movie. She gets the best lines (“I’ve been social distancing since birth”) but there are laughs to be had from all the characters, and the animation that remains true to Charles Addams’ original drawings is a treat, too.

Is The Addams Family 2 suitable for kids? Here are our parents’ notes...

This is an animated movie aimed at all ages. However, some small children may be frightened when one of the characters starts to take on the appearance of an octopus, and in later scenes there are other strange human/animal creatures that may disturb them.

There are no truly scary moments but the family are occasionally in brief danger but each time it is resolved quickly.
