After March Of The Penguins, Happy Feet, and the penguin bits of Madagascar, you may think you’ve had enough of movies featuring our flippered friends. But Surf’s Up is a cute animated comedy – about penguins who compete in an annual surfing competition – and a treat, as cocky young Cody (LaBeouf, star of Transformers and Harrison Ford’s sidekick in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull) bonds with a washed up surfer (Bridges, naturally) as he trains for the big day.

Filmed as a mockmentary, it’s packed with laughs and even a moral (winning isn’t everything, also trotted out for Pixar’s Cars) for the kids, while adults will chortle at James Woods’ perfect vocal performance as a bonkers surf promoter.

Totally awesome, dude.

Is Surf’s Up suitable for kids? Here are our parents’ notes...

None.

If you like this, why not try: Happy Feet, Madagascar, Shark Tale, Finding Nemo, Bolt,
