Wacky scientist Szalinski (Moranis) has done it again. After reducing his kids to the size of ants in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, in this sequel he accidentally enlarges his two-year-old son until he is over 100 feet high. It could happen to anyone – Szalinski is working on a new experiment when his son wanders into the path of the laser beam. Soon, every time the kid comes into contact with electricity, he grows a little bit more, and what’s worse is he’s heading for Las Vegas, the biggest source of electricity in America.
This comedy is very much like the original, but does have some new jokes and funny moments as Moranis and his wife try to find a way to shrink their son back to his normal size. It’s predictable, but not a bad way to spend an evening. A forgettable video/DVD sequel, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, followed in 1997.
