Nice-looking but ultimately dull tale of a boy named Angus and his dog. Bradford is nice enough as the kid who adopts a stray labrador and names him Yellow, then finds him and the mutt stranded on a deserted shore when the boat they were in capsizes in a storm. While his distraught parents (Rogers and Davison) pray he will be found and the coastguard are out looking for him, Angus and Yellow brave the elements, the wild animals and the rugged British Columbia terrain together.
It looks breathtakingly lovely and the dog is adorable, but with minimal dialogue and story, this feels much longer than it really is (just eighty minutes). Be warned if you do watch – parents will want to book a holiday to Canada to embrace the stunning scenery while kids will demand a dog after seeing this incredibly cute and valiant one.
