First trailer for The Super Mario Bros Movie is here!

Nintendo have teamed up with Illumination – the company behind the Despicable Me movies – to make a new animated movie based on the world of Super Mario Bros.

There has, of course, been a Mario movie before – a live action adventure starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo as Mario and Luigi that is almost legendarily bad – but this is the one fans have been waiting a very long time for.

The first trailer has just been released, featuring Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario (and he sounds like Chris Pratt, there is no Italian accent as fans were expecting/dreading). The voice cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong and Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong.

The movie will be in UK cinemas from 31 March 2023, and in the meantime, check out the first trailer – is it how you imagined Super Mario World would be?
