New trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru

Those loveable yellow minions are back in cinemas this summer for another adventure, and this time it is the origin story of how future supervillain Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell) first met his minions.

Set in the 1970s when Gru is just 12 years old, plotting to overtake the world from his mum’s basement, the new animated adventure features a new minion – Otto – and a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6. When they oust their leader, Gru auditions to become their newest member, but things don’t quite go as planned.

Featuring the voices of Taraji P Henson, Michelle Yeoh, Rza, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren and Julie Walters, the movie is released on July 1st in the UK.
