Paddington pops up around London

If you are in London between October 23rd and December 3rd, keep your eyes peeled for five pop-up installations that will be scattered across the city to celebrate the upcoming release of Paddington 2 in UK cinemas on November 10th.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan unveiled the project at London Bridge City today (October 19th) alongside Paddington 2 filmmakers and cast including Hugh Bonneville, Simon Farnaby, Rosie Alison, Alexandra Ferguson-Derbyshire and Paddington author Michael Bond’s daughter Karen Jankel.

Celebrating London (in partnership with visitlondon.com) and Paddington Bear himself, the pop up book installations – entitled Paddington’s Pop Up London and inspired by a pop up book Paddington finds in the new movie – will lead families on a treasure hunt around the capital, as the five installations will reveal a secret word. Once you have that, you can enter a competition at www.visitlondon.com/paddington2 for the chance to win a family afternoon tea journey aboard the Belmond British Pullman train (marmalade sandwiches included).

The five pop up book installations will be at the following locations:

Peter’s Hill (St Paul’s), Tower Bridge, Paddington Station, Peninsula Square (The O2) and Bankside (Tate Modern) and you will be able to find out more at the Visit London website and app.
