The 20-odd year-old hit TV series finally became a movie in 2007, with everyone’s favourite dysfunctional yellow family having some big screen adventures.

Things start to go wrong when Grampa has a religious vision that predicts impending doom for Springfield, and the government seals off the town after Homer pollutes the local lake. With nasty Russ Cargill (voiced by Albert Brooks) from the Environment Protection Agency on his trail, Homer has to fight to save his family, the residents of his town – and his new pet pig – from disaster.

Not as funny as the best episodes of the long-running series, this does have some laughs, the most notable being the ‘spider-pig’ scene that has been repeatedly shown on TV and YouTube.
