A fun animated comedy fantasy adventure from Disney that was a deserved hit among younger viewers (the under-10s will love this the most – parents may find the characters a bit irritating). It’s the story of the friendship between cute little Hawaiian Lilo (Chase) and naughty alien Stitch (Sanders), but it also manages to touch on serious issues such as the threat of Lilo being taken into care and the message that everyone (including ETs, it seems) is created equal.
Of course, little viewers probably won’t notice all that and instead will just be enchanted by the duo’s fun adventures, the lush animation and Stitch’s cheeky behaviour. A straight-to-DVD sequel, Stitch! The Movie (2003), and a TV spin-off series followed and are a must for fans.

Is Lilo And Stitch suitable for kids? Here are our parents’ notes...

None, although very little kids may find Stitch a bit scary at first (he’s blue with lots of teeth!)
