The BFG Dream Jar Trail
The BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the classic Roald Dahl book, is in UK cinemas from Friday 22nd July. To celebrate 100 years since Roald Dahl’s birth, and to raise money for Save The Children, fifty celebrities have had their childhood dreams transformed into sculptures in ‘dream jars’ around London and the country for people to see for free this summer. The jars will be auctioned later this year – see HERE for more details.
Among the places where the jars can be found are Leicester Square (where you can find Steven Spielberg’s, as we did, below), The Shard, Emirates Stadium, The Lowry in Manchester, The Museum Of Modern Art in Glasgow and the Hayes in usa shopping area in Cardiff. Celebrities whose dreams have been captured in the jars include Game Of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams, YouTuber Zoella, Sophie Dahl, Simon Cowell, One Direction’s Niall Horan, professor Stephen Hawking and astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
You can find more information at http://www.visitlondon.com/bfg, including photos of all the dream jars and a map of where to find them. Thirty-two jars are already on display, with the remaining 18 being added next Friday (22nd).
