Christmas Countdown – day five!

Here’s another Christmas movie to get you into the holiday mood. It’s a motion capture film, and while it’s not as slick and impressive as Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures Of Tintin, The Polar Express is nonetheless an interesting experiment in getting actors to perform and then translating it into animation. Tom Hanks stars as the conductor, the boy, and Santa himself, among others in this story based on Chris Van Allsburg’s book about a magical train journey to the North Pole.

Parents of younger viewers, do note that the Santa here isn’t very cuddly – very young children may even find him a bit scary! Check out the movies4kids review of the movie here. And click below for a clip from the 2004 film:
