First trailer for Mary Poppins Returns

It’s been more than 50 years since Julie Andrews portrayed everyone’s favourite nanny on the big screen in the 1964 adaptation of PL Travers’ Mary Poppins stories.

This Christmas we finally get a sequel, with Emily Blunt taking on the role of Mary in a story set about 20 years after the original. The Banks children that she cared for are now grown up with families of their own, but they need her more than ever in this new adventure. Lin-Manuel Miranda is Mary Poppins’ friend, lamplighter Jack, Meryl Streep costars as cousin Topsy, and the cast also includes Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer and Angela Lansbury.

The movie opens in the UK on December 21 and on December 25 in the US.
